
The Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) officially bid farewell to the national team during a well-attended send-off press conference held in Maseru West on April 3, 2026.
The event brought together LCA leadership, the technical team, players, and members of the media, all united in their support for the squad ahead of its upcoming international assignment.
LCA Vice President Ashraf Patel expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, highlighting the commitment shown by both players and management throughout the preparation period. He emphasized that the team carries the pride and expectations of the nation.
“Our players have shown great discipline and unity. We are confident they will represent Lesotho with pride and determination,” Patel said.
Head coach Alex Mavhiko outlined the team’s preparations, noting that the squad has undergone intensive training designed to strengthen both skills and mental resilience. He praised the balance within the team, which combines experienced players with emerging talent.
“We have prepared thoroughly, and the players have responded very well. We are ready for the challenge ahead,” Mavhiko stated.
Team captain Maneo Nyabela spoke on behalf of the players, reaffirming their commitment to delivering strong performances. He highlighted teamwork and focus as key elements that will guide the team during the competition.
“We are united as a team and ready to give our best for the country. Our goal is to make Basotho proud,” Nyabela said.
