Today, the Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) successfully concluded a two-day Sports Reporters Refresher Course held at the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) premises.
The programme was designed to equip local sports reporters with the knowledge and skills needed to accurately and confidently report on cricket activities in Lesotho.
Enhancing Media Knowledge & Cricket Understanding
During the training, participants learned not only how to report on cricket events but also gained foundational knowledge about how the game is played.
The workshop covered:
- Basics of cricket rules
- Match formats and terminologies
- Scoring and analysis fundamentals
- Best practices for sports reporting
In total, 15 sports reporters representing 14 different media houses completed the course — a significant step toward improving cricket visibility and accuracy in national sports reporting.

Leadership Engagement & Vision Sharing
The President of the Lesotho Cricket Association, Mr. Vijayakumar Bhaskaran, graced the event with his presence.
He addressed the media professionals, highlighting his vision for cricket development and emphasizing the crucial relationship between the Association and the media.
He expressed appreciation for their willingness to learn and their role in shaping public perception of cricket in the country.

Looking Ahead
With strengthened media partnerships and newly trained sports reporters, the LCA is confident that cricket stories, achievements, and development programmes will now receive better visibility across the country.
This initiative marks another important step in enhancing communication, transparency, and national engagement with the sport.
