LCA President to Represent Lesotho at ICC Annual Conference in Scotland

The President of the Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA), Mr. Vijayakumar Bhaskaran, will represent Lesotho at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference to be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 8–11 July 2026. The annual conference serves as the ICC’s premier governance meeting, bringing together leaders of member cricket associations from around the world to discuss key issues affecting the global game, including governance, strategic planning, and cricket development.

The conference takes place at a historic moment for the sport following cricket’s inclusion in the Olympic Games programme. The return of cricket to the Olympics is expected to unlock new opportunities for investment, participation, and development, particularly for emerging cricket nations such as Lesotho. As part of the conference programme, Lesotho will present an Olympic Solidarity Funding Case Study, highlighting the country’s successful access to Olympic Solidarity funding in two separate areas. These include the Team Support Grant for Women’s Cricket and the Technical Course for Coaches and Athletes’ Entourage.

The presentation will demonstrate how the strategic use of Olympic Solidarity funding has contributed to strengthening cricket development in Lesotho, particularly in women’s cricket and capacity building for coaches and support personnel.

LCA is confident that participation in the ICC Annual Conference will further strengthen its relationship with the international cricket community and create new opportunities to advance cricket development in the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Best wishes to President Vijayakumar Bhaskaran as he represents the Lesotho Cricket Association and the Kingdom of Lesotho at this important global cricket gathering.
